Day 12 - Back on the Trail (sort of)

I spent the morning and early afternoon working on the logistics for my food drops for the next 2,400 miles. Thank you so much to everyone who is helping me with this, if you didn't receive an email from me yesterday, you soon will. Thanks for being patient with me!

I hiked out around 2 pm and got a ride with Deborah, who was on her way out of town but needed to stop by her house first. She treated me to frozen pizza and a cream soda and mentioned that she and her husband would be visiting Asheville soon.

I hit the dusty trail (a road most of the time) along the fire detour route that, after 20 miles, will reconnect with the PCT.

Getting closer to the mountains.

Getting closer to the mountains.

I finally learned how to properly hold my camera!

And then I was back into the sacred woods.

And views were discovered.

And views were discovered.

And moments needed to be shared.

I reached the summit in time to watch the sun set over Idyllwild, streetlights twinkling beneath the cotton carpet of clouds.
