Day 16 - Creekside Hike thru the Canyon

I woke up from my first cowboy camping experience of the trip, soothed overnight by the sound of rushing water.

Breakfast in bed.

And chatted with Merman while he filtered his water.

What a view.

What a view.

I hiked the first part of the day with Heather and Bailey, a mother and daughter team of delightfully strong and loving women. We took each others pictures at scenic overlooks, here's one of me:

And walked along the ridge before diving back to the canyon floor.

I had a lunch break with some friends and took a picture of Whit's tattoo, a childhood hero of mine enshrined upon the back of his arm.

These dudes did not.

These flowers smelled like grape Popsicles.

I crossed the creek several more times before settling on a camping spot and cooked my dinner over an open fire, the soothing sound of the stream still soft in the distance.

Here is a video of me explaining how I blow up my massive air mattress with only 2 breaths. Equal parts magic and physics ;-)
