Day 22 - Hot Springs!

I woke up feeling refreshed from my evening soak in the hot springs and spent the morning relaxing in the warm and cool waters with some new friends.

The water felt soooo good.

My feet were the happiest they've been in over 300 miles.

I loved my time at the hot springs and felt completely rejuvenated.

it just so happened that my new friends from the video were hiking out at the same time, so we shared a lovely six mile hike before our paths diverged.

Leaving the hot springs.

It was a beautiful hike out of the canyon, and I loved sharing the experience with these incredibly strong and passionate women.

They are world traveling healthcare professionals who change lives every day and still take time to have fun.

I love you Jamie, Liz, and Jenn, may the light of love forever radiate from your hearts.

The magic of the day didn't stop there, however. I soon met up with my friends Mariel and Jennifer and we met Coppertone at the next road crossing.

He offered us ice cream and pie and root beer floats!

A full time RVer, PCT alum, and former missionary, Coppertone prepared over 1,000 root beer floats for hikers last year.

Ice cream and pie in the desert?

What a dessert!

We hiked on toward the soon setting sun, determined to cowboy camp on the beach of a nearby lake.

Only one thing got in our way.

More treats!!!

More treats!!!

we feasted by the light of our headlamps, grateful and giddy for all this day has given.

Happier than clams at high tide.

We soon reached the beach and celebrated this miraculous day with a box of Chardonnay that Jenn, Jamie, and Liz had given me as we hugged good bye.

With a delightedly tired body and a heart full of wonder and thanksgiving, I slept soundly beside the softly lapping waves.
