We've been looking forward to our first trail side lake for quite some time and many of us spent several hours soaking up the sun and cooling ourselves in the brisk water.

And stroll through the pines.

By the time I arrived, there were about a dozen hikers sprawled out along the sandy lakeshore.

Blackfoot was enjoying himself.

As was Critter, who I met on the Appachian Trail in 2013.

I went for a float on my inflatable sleeping pad and then relaxed under a tree for an afternoon siesta.

Feeling refreshed, I hiked out in mid afternoon and had a nice view of the lake below.

I caught the sweet smell of a campfire and found a group of friends gathered around it and joined them for dinner and camped with them next to the nearby stream and waterfall.
