Day 36 - I Would Walk 500 Miles

That 80s song about walking 500 miles was playing on the stereo in my brain today, feeling pretty confident that I would reach that milestone before the sun went down.

We left Casa de Luna after breakfast and Terrie, the lady of the house, gave us a ride to the trailhead.

Thanks Terrie!

We had a 12.5 mile road walk to get us around a section closed due to a recent fire.

We took it one step at a time.

Obi Wan and Free Fallin' completed part of the road walk in the back of a milk truck.

They said it was brisk yet very rewarding.

There was a rather unique treasure inside this store.

A hiker register dating back from the late seventies. There was still room in it for us to sign.

After hiking along the road into the early afternoon, I was glad to get back on the trail and was greeted by some gnats, some shade, and then "The Dude."

The Dude lives nearby and was training to backpack a section of the PCT with a friend.

The Dude and I shared thought provoking conversation as we switch backed up the mountain and then cruised along the ridge line.

We hiked through a pine forest and gazed upon the sandy desert floor.

So many terrains within eyesight, a summary of the past 500 miles.

Speaking of 500 miles...

I made it.

I made it.

I feel so blessed to be on this journey, thank YOU for sharing it with me.
