Day 70 - Island Pass

I woke to the sound of water falling, and was impressed by the beauty of the waterfall I slept beside.

One of the joys of setting up camp in the dark is the discovery of my surroundings in the morning.

Here is my friend Britt soaking up some rays at the start of her day.

There were several stream crossings, this one had a wooden bridge for us to cross.

This one was more of a plank but was plenty enough to keep our feet dry.

We climbed along the sides of mountain peaks.

And down into the lush floor of the valley.

Water was EVERYWHERE, and the plant life seemed well nourished.

And we caught glimpses of snow amongst the jagged peaks that towered above.

We caught up with some of our favorite trail friends and shared dinner around their cozy campfire.

We hiked into the evening along Thousand Island Lake, and witnessed a colorful transformation of our surroundings.

We reached the top of Island Pass just after dark, and called it a day shortly thereafter.
