We ate scones for breakfast and hit the trail with a sugar rush. The terrain was different than the other side of Sonora Pass, but no less interesting.
The rocks atop the peaks we climbed had interesting qualities and were of various shades of color.
The wild flowers were out in full force, a rainbow bouquet lined the sides of the trail.
In the valleys the land was lush, springs shooting out of the rock and falling into successively wider and deeper channels.
Going back up!
I hiked into the late afternoon and shared a campfire with friends, it felt good to be back on the trail.
