Day 58 - Rae Lakes and Pinchot Pass

I woke up to this view, and while packing up met a ranger on patrol, who offered some kind reminders for "leave no trace" camping.

I met two rangers over the course of the day and they seem to really enjoy their work, I know I would!

I walked along the shore of the Rae Lakes for most of the morning and early afternoon.

They were stunningly beautiful.

And went on for MILES.

I drank out a waterfall and relished the pure unfiltered goodness.

I crossed a suspension bridge and took a nap beside the stream.

There were waterfalls all over the place and the sound of moving water was music to my ears.

I saw a sooty grouse that looked like it would make a tasty meal.

And a deer that seemed unperturbed by my presence.

I hiked towards Pinchot Pass and made it to the top just before the sun set.

I hiked back down into the valley and camped on a smooth rock ledge near a stream.
