For all the rain in the evening, we woke up dry and the ground around us remained firm.
We had a scenic, 13 mile hike to Reds Meadow, our gateway to the nearby mountain town of Mammoth, CA.
The intermittent sunshine felt good after all the rain we received over the past few days.
While enjoying a snack, our friends Thin Mint and J-Walk caught up with us and we hiked the remaining few miles to Reds Meadow.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a trail crew from the PCTA who offered us snacks and cold beverages. Thanks for all you do, PCTA crew!!!
Hungry for some pizza, we took the shuttle bus to Mammoth Mountain and then hopped a trolley into town. The four of us split a room at the Roadway Inn and shared a massive pizza at the reataurant across the street.
We picked up a large container of ice cream and shared it with some friends staying at the Motel 6 nearby. I hadn't seen Smiley and LostnFound in over 200 miles and it was wonderful to reconnect.
