We enjoyed a leisurely morning at the motel, eating donuts from the continental breakfast and spending time with our respective hand held devices.
I did some serenading from the couch.
Kenny, the owner, allowed us a late check out and we hung out until around noon.
We spent some time cruising around town on the free trolley. I played my uke and sang to people riding along with us.
The town of Mammoth is a really beautiful little resort town. There is a popular ski resort just up the road and the town is littered with condos and coffee shops. I heard a report that there were 20,000 people in town to celebrate the 4th.
Britt and I discovered that we could share a pair of headphones to have our own little silent disco and we danced down the street to Mason Jennings and rode the trolley while singing "Hakuna Matata," along with the Lion King soundtrack.
We watched the sun set and made up songs on the ukulele as the sky changed colors.
We hopped over to the local bowling alley and hung out with some friends there. It was cosmic bowling night so the dancing continued.
After enjoying some pizza there, we picked up some more ice cream and rode the trolley back to the Motel 6, where we camped in the woods nearby.
