Day 91 - The A-Tree

Everything out here seems to have a name. Each creek, lake, mountain, and pass has an agreed upon moniker and sometimes I wonder how and when they got their names.

I enjoyed a picturesque morning walk, full of the "usual" delights.

Fields of wild flowers followed by rows of evergreens.

And mountain tops that are unique unto themselves.

I thought this may have been a typo on my map, but no.

Apparently, when a trail crew was doing maintenance years ago, a nearby tree was full of bees. One volunteer said to the other "Well if that's the bee tree, that must be the A tree over there!" and another trail name was born.

The water was cold and delicious, definitely "A" grade H2O.

Further up the trail were some seriously epic landscapes.

Some seriously radiant flowers.

And a seriously shot up sign.

I wonder which side of the line is safer?

I wonder which side of the line is safer?

I reached the top of a peak and could look for miles in all directions. It is a powerful feeling to spin around and see so much land beneath your feet.

But what goes up must always come down, and I take comfort in knowing that the trees that tower over me today will be alive and still growing long after my day is done.
